GamCare statistics shows that women gambling addicts is on the rise. Women are now enjoying and playing casino players like their men counterpart.

Who says that gambling is for men only? According to charity group, GamCare, studies shows that the numbers of female gambling addicts are climbing faster than it was expected. According to statistics, more than of the quarter of gambling addicts that uses their online forum are women.

GamCare says that in the year 2000, only two percent of their clients are women, but it change dramatically in 2005, when nine percent are women clients and eighteen percent are helpline callers who asks for counseling regarding gambling addiction.

There are more than six thousand people who were able to use the charity for counseling in the year 2005. This statistics shows that there is a 41.3% rise from 2004.

But according to GamCare, it is not only in women gambling addicts are on the rise but also in men. And the evidence behind the unusual increase of gambling addicts in both in men and women is the fact that a lot of online gamblers are seeking help for their addiction.

In 2005 alone, between the month of July and September the online site of GameCare has more than seven thousand hits seeking for counseling and advice. And during the last three months of 2005, the figures soared to 42, 600 online visitors and the figures went up higher for the early part of this year, it now reached 89, 000 online hits.

The figures increase as the popularity of online gambling sizzling hot. In UK, there are twenty seven local councils are bidding for exclusive right to developed the UK version of super casino in Las Vegas.

The Casino Advisory Panel will shortly announce those lists of short listed councils.

In a report sent to the BBC, GamCare said that the public is still not well aware about the issue of women and gambling. As in this case, women are still not represented in the clients asking for counseling.

GamCare further explained that stigma and shame are the reasons why the numbers of women addicted to gambling are still not marginalized.

Gambling expert and therapist, Faith Freestone is writing an important report that will center on women gambling.

According to Freestone, women are now more likely to spend hours in online gambling site with the use of their credit cards.

Partygaming had a first quarter revenue rise from 52% to 324.6% as a result of people signing up to play poker.

The poker group players had tremendously leap from 20% to 263, 254 of which 39% were from outside the US.
